Tree Planting in THENI MALAI -Thiruvannamalai 17sep2017

 Responsible Citizens iYakkam organised a Tree planting initiative in Theni malai ( a small hillock in Thiruvannamalai city ) with the best coordination efforts & Initiative of 70 years Young Shri. Jegam Radhakrishnan Sir, President of Thiruvannamalai Trees Planting Association who has been spearheading the cause of Green in Thiruvannamalai for the last two decades.

 We apporached the Shanmuga Industrial Arts & science college  which is very close to the Hillock for the student volunteers. The college Management - the correspondent, The Principal & especially the English Lecturer & NSS Coordinator Mr. Paneerselvam offered the services of NSS students for three days. Four most active dedicated boys Mr. Manimaran, Mr. Muthukumaran, Mr. Viswajit & Mr. Karan climbed the hill several times to transporting the seeds from the foot hills to the top .

 Mr. Panneer Selvam coordinated with Mr. Raghavan of Neer Thuli organisation- they brought in about 15 of their volunteers who actively participated in the three hour event from 8 am to 11.30 am

Manjam Pill - Grass acts as a sponge for all the rain water or cloud condense dew drops on the hill itself.  We sincerely hope all the seeds grows in to trees & help condense all the clouds in to rivulets streams in this small hill.

• 20,000 Nos of Tree Cotton seeds
• 5,000 Nos of various trees seeds of seed balls
• 10 Pothu Branches
• 10 Tree saplings
